Charitable Contributions
The Illinois Sports Facilities Authority annually donates White Sox baseball tickets and the use of the U.S. Cellular Field facilities and surrounding property to non-profit and charitable organizations for their fundraising efforts. Facilities like the Conference and Learning Center, Scout Lounge, Premium Seating, Diamond Suites and adjacent parking lots are donated.
In 2008, approximately 3,000 regular season Chicago White Sox game tickets were donated to city, state and international organizations through the Authority’s Ticket Program. For example, the Illinois Sports Facilities Authority annually donates tickets to the Chicago Park District for distribution within their outreach programs, has partnered with the International Visitors Center of Chicago, who brought groups from Russia, Poland, Mexico and the Middle East to their first U.S. baseball games. Recipients of these tickets also include area youth who may not otherwise be able to see a Major League Baseball game.
Non-profit organizations that are eligible for charitable donations must demonstrate their non-profit status to the Illinois Sports Facilities Authority and must be committed to using the donation for charitable purposes consistent with their mission statements.
