Illinois Sports Facilities Authority (ISFA) Hosts Gang Resistance And Education Training Program At U.S. Cellular Field

WHAT:  The Illinois Sports Facilities Authority (ISFA) hosts the Chicago Police Department’s (CPD) Gang Resistance And Education Training (G.R.E.A.T.) program.  This two-week learning course certifies CPD officers to instruct elementary and middle school children in select Chicago schools this spring, the tools necessary to combat gang involvement.  The media is invited to attend the cutting edge Gang Trends class taught by renowned Gang Specialist Chris Grant.  He will teach CPD officers how to help keep Chicago youth away from the dangers and ills of gang involvement.  The interactive class is designed to give officers the insight to gang recruitment techniques, explain key identifiers of their activity and to recognize the common symbols and signs currently utilized by today’s gangs.
